Jesus created a level of comfort with his audience. Perhaps it is only a handful of people that you are focusing in on with a laser that aren't bearing the gospel in the way that you've summarized.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23067594.post-408495631276617652010-04-07T06:02:09.499-07:002010-04-07T06:02:09.499-07:00Or is it that the gospel is so huge and mind-bendi...Or is it that the gospel is so huge and mind-bending awesome that all of us are reductionists regardless of the particular kind of Christianity—new and old—that we follow?

Yes. He admits that at any given time, about 20% of what he teaches is wrong. I'd venture to say the same for myself. With that in mind, it's not surprising that two different people read a post, and think you err in opposite directions.

I for one have been challenged by you on a number of fronts, and thank God for it. On that note, I'm not sure what box *I* fit into and where I err, but I doubt you're in danger of becoming a "reductionist"!

Keep pushing us, and thanks for the humility to consider like all of us, you may need correction/leading/guiding from time to time.
